About Me

& How I Approach Therapy

Danielle Morrow, MSc, RP, RMFT

My name is Danielle Morrow and I am a Registered Psychotherapist (with CRPO) and hold a designation as a Registered Marriage and Family Therapist (with CAMFT). I hold myself to the highest ethical standards. I have been a practicing Therapist since 2012, when I engaged in a Masters of Science program, receiving intensive and practical psychotherapy training from a Postmodern and Systemic lens. Although this is a loaded thing to try and explain in one sentence, to me, this ultimately means that I steer away from the belief that the person is the “problem” and that our current challenges are simply a product of our own incapabilities. Instead, I take into account the systems we are part of (relational, medical, societal, etc.) to better understand the stories we internalize, our emotions, responses, expected roles, etc. in order to help reclaim meaning to the most authentic parts of ourselves.

I am trauma-informed and mostly draw from Narrative Therapy, Internal Family Systems (IFS), Emotionally-Focused Therapy (EFT), and Collaborative Therapy to best nurture clients’ unique needs. I am adaptable and do not believe in a “one-size-fits-all” approach, which is why I am also trained in and incorporate Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) and Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT) as preferred/required. Although I am equipped and have a desire to serve different populations who experience a variety of mental, emotional, and physical concerns, I am particularly passionate in areas of “not feeling good enough”, perfectionism & imposter syndrome, and grief (loss of all kinds).

Personally, I love to be out in nature, read, travel, have the occasional cocktail (did a therapist just admit that?) and watch really good shows. I also prioritize humour in my personal life and open space for this in therapy as well.

I live in the North Bay (Ontario) area, and am currently only offering virtual services to residents of Ontario. That being said, I believe wholeheartedly in the connection between time in nature and our mental/emotional wellbeing; this is why I hope to soon be able to offer walk-and-talk therapy, kayak therapy (“let’s yak!”), and/or dock therapy, in addition to retreats on various topics. Stay tuned!
